Privacy Policy Michelin Maps App

The Michelin Maps application is developed and operated by Ubicarta SAS (hereinafter “Ubicarta”).

This Privacy Policy (hereinafter “the Policy”) applies to the following service operated by Ubicarta (hereinafter “the Service”):

The Michelin Maps mobile application (hereinafter “the Application”).

Ubicarta is committed to the protection of personal data. As such, Ubicarta is committed to compliance with the General Data Protection Regulation 2016/679 of April 27, 2016 (“GDPR”) and French Law No. 78-17 of January 6, 1978 relating to information technology, files and freedoms (“Informatique et Libertés” law), (together “the Data Protection Regulations”).

This document is part of a policy of transparency and fairness towards you.

The purpose of the Policy is to provide you with all the information you need to understand how Ubicarta collects, processes and protects your personal data when using the Service.

1. Information we collect and how we use it

When you contact us, we collect information which, alone or in combination with other information, could be used to identify you (hereinafter “Personal Data”) as follows:

 

  • Personal data related to sending an email to customer service

Information that your device sends to Ubicarta each time you contact customer service. If you contact us, we may keep a record of this correspondence.

 

  • Device data

Includes device name and operating system. The information collected may depend on the type of device you are using and its settings. This information is used to facilitate the processing of customer support requests made from the application.

 

Furthermore, in its current version, Ubicarta does not collect any geolocation data related to the use of the Service.

2. Data retention

We retain Personal Data for as long as is reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this Policy, as needed for commercial purposes or as required by law (for example:  tax, legal, accounting or other purposes), whichever period is longer.

If you have accepted to receive marketing communications from us, we retain information about your marketing preferences until you opt out of receiving such communications and in accordance with our policies.

In determining the appropriate retention period for your Personal Data, we will take into account the amount, nature and sensitivity of such Personal Data, the potential risk of harm resulting from unauthorized use or disclosure of your Personal Data, the purposes for which we use your Personal Data and whether we can achieve those purposes by other means, as well as any applicable legal requirements.

 

3. Updating your information

If you need to modify or correct your Personal Data, please contact us at carte-michelin@ubicarta.com. We will respond to your request as required by applicable law.

4. Children

Our Service is not intended for children under the age of 13.  If you have reason to believe that a child under the age of 13 has provided Personal Information to Ubicarta through the Service, please contact us at carte-michelin@ubicarta.com and we will male sure to delete this information from our databases.

Ubicarta is responsible for processing your Personal Data.

6. Changes to the Privacy Policy

The Service and our activities may change from time to time. Accordingly, we may modify this Privacy Policy at any time. If we do, we will post an updated version on this page, unless another type of notice is required by applicable law. By continuing to use our Service or by providing us with Personal Data after we have posted an updated Policy, or after we have notified you of an updated Policy, as the case may be, you accept the revised Policy and the practices described therein.

7. Security

You use the service at your own risk. We comply with industry standards to protect Personal Data online and offline against loss, misuse and unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration or destruction. However, no Internet or email transmission is ever completely secure or error-free. In particular, emails sent by you to us or by us to you may not be secure. Therefore, you should take special care in deciding what information you send to us via the Service or by email. Please keep this in mind when disclosing Personal Data to Ubicarta via the Internet. In addition, we are not responsible for potential by-passing of privacy settings or security measures contained in the Service or third-party websites.
